Ducks, Geese & Swans of North America Receives Awards

The Wildlife Management Institute's completely revised and updated Ducks, Geese and Swans of North America received an Honorable Mention PROSE Award in the Multivolume/Science Category. The PROSE Awards are presented each year by the Professional and Scholarly Publishing Division of the Association of American Publishers (AAP) to honor noteworthy and original contributions in scholarly writing. In addition, the American Association of University Presses selected the books as one of the year's two "best designed" reference books.

Ducks, Geese and Swans of North America, written by the late Guy Baldassarre, was selected from a field of nearly 100 nominated works within its category.

"The PROSE Awards honor the greatest works in professional and scholarly publishing. These are the books and journals that change how we understand the world around us and benefit our society through the sharing of knowledge," said PROSE Awards Chairman John A. Jenkins, President and Publisher Emeritus of CQ Press, and Founder and CEO of Law Street Media in a statement.

Ducks, Geese and Swans is a comprehensive reference book on the waterfowl species and their habitats within North America. Originally written in 1942, the latest version is the fourth edition of this book and maintains the tradition of excellence found in previous volumes. Publisher Johns Hopkins University Press (JHUP) recently released a video to promote the sales of the book.
